The shared responsibility of each co-director is to:

  1. create and facilitate the immersion experiences program and the electronic monastery without walls
  2. develop and implement a sustainability plan for the ECCSR

Primary responsibility for four of eight additional rotating work portfolios will be allocated according to the gifts, experience, and desire of each co-director.  These work portfolios are:

  1. recruitment of immersion program participants
  2. annual promotion planning and implementation
  3. coordination and nurturing of volunteers, hospitality
  4. communication with monastery staff and coordination of monastery calendars
  5. relationship building with mission partners for funding
  6. management of Lilly grant budget including submission of program and financial reports
  7. report writing for Lilly Endowment, Inc., ongoing funding purposes, and public communication
  8.  developing an evaluation process for the ECCSR programs.

Limited travel may be required.

Qualifications of each of the co-directors include familiarity with diverse Christian clergy and congregations and a commitment to the spiritual renewal of both.  Successful candidates have backgrounds in spiritual renewal and contemplative or Benedictine spirituality and they are dedicated to their own personal spiritual practice.  They each have gifts of effective verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships, develop programs, and facilitate large and small groups.  Enthusiasm and demonstrated skill for working within a collaborative leadership model is essential.  In addition, between them they have skills and experience related to grant writing and management, report writing, fundraising, budget management, program evaluation, social media, long-distance learning, and audio-visual technology.  A reflection circle, comprised of five volunteers, will serve as a vision support team for the co-directors.  The members of the reflection circle are in the service of the ongoing success and flourishing of the co-directors and the ECCSR.

Each of the co-director positions is a year-round position at 25 hours per week. On-site office preferred but we are open to other arrangements.  Annual salary range for each position begins at $40,000 plus generous benefits.  Applications must arrive electronically or by post by November 18, 2018.  Positions begin January 2, 2019.
